What happens when you don’t wash clothes for 3 days prior to 11 people being in your house. Answer: The laundry mounts up! I am now on load 5 with 4 more to go!!!!!!!!! Maybe today I will find my way out of the laundry room.
What a day what a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This year was magical!! The fun we had and the joy on the kids faces was great. My memories I will take away are:
1. The kids eyes when they walked in the den and saw what Santa was able to get down the chimney.
2. Brantley being concerned that Santa wasn’t going to be able to get out of the chimney because there were gifts in front of it. Amy moved them so Santa could get out.
3. Having my entire family wake up here at our house on Christmas morning!!! Thank you guys for being here with us.
4. Having the Lord’s Supper at church on Christmas Eve and Ed explaining to Hunter that he could participate when Jesus came to live in his heart and Hunter replying that Jesus does live in his heart because he loves Jesus. Ed then had to explain more. What a teachable moment.
5. My dad’s face when he opened the print of the Loveman’s Clock that I gave him. He always talks about Loveman’s and his memories of grandmother taking him shopping there. I found the print and decided to surprise him.
6. Travelling from North Georgia, Lawrenceville GA, Marietta and then to Montgomery the weekend before and the weekend after and being able to see almost all of our family during this time!!! That was a first.
This Christmas has so many wonderful memories - I can’t even begin to tell them all. I can truly say that I love Christmas and the meaning behind it. The greatest gift we ever received - Jesus Christ. And sharing that story with my children.
For the past month, I have been converting videos for my mom and dad as a Christmas present this year. I have been restoring the past Christmas’ from 1967 to 1993. I was two years from finishing when my computer decided to play a bad joke on me. I attempted to open some of them for reviewing when programs started not working. So I attempted to restart. Well, I was due my turn. My hard drive has crashed and no longer seen by the system. I have lost a month’s worth of videos ready to be burned to a DVD. ARGH. I was pretty upset and just sat there in disgust of what just happened five days before Christmas. How awful.
This morning my WONDERFUL husband offered to cook pancakes for my 7th grade Sunday School class. After the boys devoured the food, Ed and I were headed out to put all the stuff in the car. As we walked along in the cool, crisp air I happened upon a loose stone in our church parking lot. My foot slid across the stone and I met the pavement face to face. After I layed there for a moment trying to figure out what happened to me, I realized that I could move all parts of my body. Two very skint hands, one really skint up knee and a very sore body is what I took home from church today.
Luckily, two of my students were walking behind us and saw what happened (I was too hurt to be embarassed). They came over and helped Ed get all of our stuff to the car. Thank you Bryce and Tyler for your help!!!!
When Hunter saw my bummed knee he hollered “WOW - HOW DID YOU DO THAT?”
My new middle name - Grace!
This post is coming to you live from the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Cornelia, GA. We are up here this evening to spend tomorrow with my Nana and Pop who are living in assisted living up here. Ed is pumped - they have wireless networking!!! We are looking forward to our visit tomorrow and spending time with two people who have exhibited what a true marriage is all about.
Sad note - we passed a car wreak just outside of town. It is one of the most horrific accidents I think I have ever seen. I saw an Excursion with a flattened top and a car that use to look like a camaro. And the contents of the cars spread hundreds of feet down the highway. I am so thankful the children were sleeping so we didn’t have to explain anything to them. I just pray for the people who were involved and their families.
In October, my boss submitted a letter to the board of education to move my contract to a 12-month contract. The letter got lost in the process after all the needed signatures were on it - except for the superintendent’s. We discovered the letter was missing the end of November - in time to get in on the last board meeting of the month.
I got my December paycheck today and in it was 2 month’s back pay for my new salary. God is GREAT in a time that we so needed it. Thank you God for ALWAYS providing when we least expect it.
Came and went without incident. Without incident - because Hunter sat in my lap the entire time. He refused to go up with his classmates and sing the four songs they had practiced all week and the poem that they did an incredible job of reciting. He sat in my laugh - trying to make himself throw up. Talk about an anxiety attack. I don’t know that we will ever get him up on that stage for ANYTHING!!

Once again Ed & Brian bring you the Christmas Friday Five. This week is the top five Christmas Movies or Shows.
5. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
4. Miracle on 34th Street.
3. How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
2. Charlie Brown Christmas.
1. It’s A Wonderful Life.
Hunter’s first public performance will be this Friday with his Christmas Program at school. The class will be singing a few songs and will recite a poem they have learned. Yesterday when I went to pick him up, his teacher warned me that Hunter might not participate in the program Friday. Turns out they had a run through yesterday and Hunter did not like the fact that he would be performing in front of all the parents. He had a little fit about it - according to the teacher. She just wanted to give me a heads up that he might run out of the room and if he did that was ok. This is not surprising from the kid who cried at his 2nd birthday party when we sang Happy Birthday to him. He hates to be the center of attention. (Quite different from his sister.)
Looks like we are going to be doing alot of building up to the big event Friday. We’ll let you know how it goes.
